Leucorrhoea is a condition in which there is a whitish discharge from the vagina resulting from inflammation or irritation of the membrane lining the genital organs of the female.

It often occurs usually, but if excessive may be a symptom of infection. Leucorrhoea is a simple add to in the normal vaginal secretion.

It may be thick, viscid and foul smelling. There is usually extra discharge at puberty, when the sexual functions are becoming established.

Leucorrhoea can also be classified as cervical leucorrhoea or vaginal leucorrhoea i.e., according to the put of its origin - cervix or vagina.

Home Remedy for Leucorrhoea

An effective home remedy for leucorrhoea is lady's finger. A decoction of this vegetable is prepared by sweltering of 100 grams of the bright capsules, cut transversely, in half a liter of water for 20 minutes and then strained sweetened.

This decoction, given in doses of two or three ounces regularly, is highly beneficial in all irritable situation of genito-urinary organs including leucorrhoea.

Treatment of Leucorrhoea by Nature Cure



The treatment of this disease should be started with fruit diet including papaya, sweet lime, orange, chiku, guava and pear may be taken twice or thrice a day.

A glass of lemon water may be taken in the morning. After the fruit diet, the meals consisting of whole wheat bread and green vegetables ought to be ongoing. Dalia and Moong dal may also be taken.

• Vagina should be washed every day with Neem water.

• Practice of enema is also essential for cleansing the stomach.

• Mudpack over abdomen, Hipbath every day in the morning and Sitz bath daily evening are its excellent treatment.

Herbal Remedies for Leucorrhoea

? A warm vaginal douche with Triphala water is highly beneficial. Take 20 grams of Triphala powder, add to 2 liters of water and boil for 15 minutes-filter it and use as douche, when it is tolerably hot.

? Cold hip bath: Equally a cold hip bath twice a day is also useful in removing the morbid matter.

? Fenugreek seeds: These are useful when a tea similar to decoction is made from these seeds and taken internally.

? Tandulodaka (rice-wash) is very useful for douching.

? The decoction of bark of Lodhra is also used for the point of douching.

Ayurvedic Remedies

1. Pushyanuga Churna-a powdered medicine is highly useful in leucorrhoea¬3 grams of this powder should be taken twice a day with a cup of milk or rice wash.

2. Ashokarishta is also effective. This oral liquid can be taken internally in the dosage form of 20ml+20ml water, twice a day along with Pushyanuga Churna.

3. Lukol tablet (Himalaya Drugs) 1 to 2 tablets twice every day.
